Air conditioning Vancouver WA. (Just a few tips.)
« on: May 16, 2012, 06:42:06 AM »
As summer draws closer and the weather heats up many people are turning on their air conditioners trying to find comfort. Here is a couple of tips to stay cool, and alleviate problems. If you have a two level home, in the summer it is a good idea to (turn the fan to the ON position) to move air through the house. Moving this air around will take the heat that is building in the home upstairs and send it to the thermostat. This tells the thermostat that heat is building and the air conditioner needs to come on. This will turn on the air conditioner when needed for the upstairs as well.  If you do not have the fan in the "ON" position this heat will build upstairs. After a while the heat upstairs will come down and reach the thermostat on its own yet by the time it does everything upstairs is hot and much harder to cool. The downstairs will cool first and satisfy the stat. leaving the upstairs to get even hotter.

If your filter is not being kept up like it should and your system is dirty, you may have dirt coming off of your indoor coil when the air conditioner runs. This dirt will collect in the trap of the condensate drain. The problem usually shows up the next year. This is what happens: "In the summer your air conditioner builds up with dirt and dust, yet with the condensation, this water makes this dirt into mud. After a while this mud makes its way to the condensate trap in your condensate drain system and just sits there." Now winter comes. This dirt in the condensate trap gets baked by the furnace and is a hard blockage waiting for the next air conditioning season." The way this blockage is usually discovered is by water coming out of the furnace all over the floor. If your furnace is in the attic this can cause this water to come from over head. Water may come out of your ceiling! This can be a major problem.

Another tip to staying cool while saving energy and keeping your Electric bills low is to making sure your indoor coil stays clean. I recommend the Lennox Pure Air System. It has everything you need in an air filtration system. By installing a Lennox Pure Air System in your Vancouver WA you will not only clean the air you breath better as it passes through your system, you will also protect the coil from the dirt that causes most of the problems in air conditioning equipment today.

The best way to protect your system from problems is with a good service and maintenance program. Keeping up on your filters and making sure they fit well is the key to a clean system.
